Village-level development
FLD provides expert project consultancy services for village-level development activities:
- Participatory research and appraisal
- Forming and supporting Self-Help Women’s Groups
- Establishing rice banks, pig banks etc
- Adoption of organic farming methods
- Affordable technology for improving village infrastructure
The FLD village development approach emphasises participatory processes to improve household-level income with a focus on empowering women of poor households through Self-Help Women’s Groups. It also focuses on affordable technology and small village infrastructure, e.g. water and sanitation facilities, and efforts to improve access to basic health and education services
